Choosing the right cartridge
Not set yet.
I do not know which cartridge my printer takes.
Start from the printer rather than the cartridge. Enter the model on Find your printer and the site will show only what fits it.
Where do I find my printer's model number?
Usually on a label on the front, on the back near the ports, or under the scanner lid; it is also in the printer's own menu under something like Reports or About. Full instructions are in the Compatibility Guide.
Should I buy standard or XL?
XL is the same cartridge with more ink or toner in it, and it almost always costs less per page. Standard makes sense if the printer sits idle for long stretches, or if you expect to replace the machine soon. Each variant on our product pages shows its own page yield so you can do the math.
What is the difference between toner, a drum unit and a maintenance box?
Toner is the consumable that becomes print. A drum unit is the part that transfers it and lasts several toner cartridges. A maintenance box catches waste ink in an inkjet and fills up over time. They are separate parts on separate schedules — the printer tells you which one it wants.
Do I need the whole color set if only one color ran out?
No. Buy the single color. Sets are there because replacing all four at once is often cheaper per cartridge, not because the printer requires it. Note that most color printers refuse to print at all — even in black — while any one cartridge is empty.
Do you sell paper too?
Yes — photo and copy paper.

How sure are you that this fits my printer?
Each product page carries the full list of printers that item fits, and it is searchable. If your model is on it, and it does not fit, we pay the return shipping under the Return Policy.
My printer is not in your finder.
Our model list is still growing, so a missing printer usually means we have not added it yet rather than that nothing fits. Search the cartridge number instead, or email support@example.com with the model and we will tell you straight whether we have anything for it.
One printer, several different cartridge numbers — which is right?
All of them, usually. Manufacturers issue a standard and a high-yield version of the same cartridge, sometimes a regional variant on top. The Compatibility Guide explains how to read them.
Will using compatible cartridges void my printer's warranty?
In the United States, generally no — the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act stops a manufacturer voiding a warranty just because you used a third-party consumable. What it does not stop is a manufacturer declining to cover damage a third-party part actually caused. That specific gap is what our printer damage cover exists to close.
Are these refilled cartridges?
No. HPEORTONER cartridges are compatible cartridges — newly built to fit the printers listed, not refilled originals. They are not made by or affiliated with the printer manufacturers; see our Terms of Service.
Quality, chips and page yield
Not set yet.
What does "chip included" mean, and why does it matter?
The chip is what tells the printer a cartridge is present and roughly how full it is. With a chip, ink and toner level indicators work normally. Without one, the printer may show no level at all or warn about a non-original supply — it still prints. We state chip status on every product page precisely because this is the most common unpleasant surprise with cheap cartridges.
My printer says the cartridge is not genuine. Is something wrong?
No. Printers are built to flag any non-manufacturer supply, and the message is usually dismissible. What matters is whether it prints. If it refuses outright, see the recognition steps on the installation page.
How is page yield measured?
To ISO/IEC 19752 for mono toner and ISO/IEC 24711 for inkjet, both at 5% page coverage — the same standards the manufacturers publish against. It is a comparison benchmark, not a prediction: dense pages and photos use far more than 5%.
I got fewer pages than the number on the page.
First check what you were printing — heavy graphics can cut real yield well below the ISO figure and that is normal for any cartridge, including originals. A cartridge that fails well short of its stated yield under ordinary text printing is a warranty matter; see Warranty.
Is print quality actually the same?
That is the claim the whole business stands on, and the honest way to state it is this: if output from one of our cartridges streaks, bands, prints blank or otherwise fails, that is a defect and it is covered for two years. We would rather commit to the remedy than to an adjective.
How long can I store a cartridge before using it?
Keep it sealed, upright, out of direct sun and away from heat, and toner keeps far longer than ink. Sealed ink cartridges eventually dry out, so buying a four-year supply of ink for a printer used twice a month is a false economy. The two-year warranty runs from delivery, not from first use — see Warranty.
Orders, shipping and tracking
Not set yet.
How much is shipping, and when does my order go out?
Thresholds, cutoffs, carriers and delivery estimates are all in the Shipping Policy.
How do I track my order?
Use the link in your shipping email. Full instructions, including what to do if the email never arrived, are on Track my order.
Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?
Until it is handed to the carrier, yes — email support@example.com with your order number and be quick, because orders are picked fast. Once it has shipped, it becomes a return.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest. An account only saves your details and order history for next time.
Do you ship outside the United States?
See Where we ship in the Shipping Policy.
Do you supply offices and schools?
Yes — volume purchasing, invoicing and fleet-wide compatibility lists are handled through HPEORTONER for Business.
Returns, warranty and things going wrong
Not set yet.
What is your return policy?
30 days, and if the item is faulty, wrong, or does not fit the printer you selected, we pay the return shipping. The conditions and the exact process are in the Return Policy.
Can I return a cartridge I have already opened?
If it is faulty, was sent in error, or does not fit — yes. If you simply changed your mind, it needs to be unopened. That split is deliberate: we would rather you open the box and find out it works. See the Return Policy.
What does the two-year warranty actually cover?
Defects in the cartridge, and damage one of our cartridges does to your printer. There are real exclusions and a printer-damage claim needs a technician's diagnosis. All of it is set out on the Warranty page.
A cartridge leaked or arrived damaged.
Email support@example.com with your order number and a photo. Damage in transit needs to be reported within 7 days of delivery — see the Shipping Policy.
I think a cartridge damaged my printer.
Stop using it, keep the cartridge, and read the claim requirements on the Warranty page before you book a repair — the evidence we need is easiest to collect before anything is dismantled.
Still stuck?
